Danskmerket fiskemåke

Pent vær, men kjølig nordavind på Jæren i dag. Ny runde til Store Stokkavatnet og Breiavatnet for å fargemerke fiskemåker. Mye turgåere, særlig langs Store Stokkavatnet, og effektiviteten var så som så. Noe bedre i Breiavatnet, ikke like mye folk i bykjernen på en søndag.

Resultater:
Store Stokkavatnet: 7 fiskemåker fargemerket, 2 gamle fargeringer avlest. 2 sothøner fanget, en nymerking og en kontroll.

Breiavatnet: 11 fiskemåker fargemerket, dessuten 14 fargeringer avlest. Den danske fuglen fra i går (en 3K) var fremdeles på plass.

A new colourringing programme has been initiated, to understand more about the "Urban Gulls". This project involves CEES/The University of Oslo, The University of Bergen and Museum Stavanger. Ringing will take place in several Norwegian cities. This weekend we had the first colourringing session in Stavanger, in total 31 common gulls were trapped and supplied with white PVC rings with black inscription, starting with the letter "J" followed with 3 letters/digits. Many of these birds will migrate back to breeding area in Northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia, possibly also the Baltic states. They will probably stray to most countries in Western Europe as far south as France during winter. If you see any, please report them here:
